Million Dollar Mozart Violin

Played to Support Jews for Judaism

When Virtuoso Geoffrey Maingart, former Concertmaster of the White House Orchestra and close friend of Jews for Judaism's director Rabbi Bentzion Kravitz, picked up his violin explaining that its original owner was Mozart, the crowd was astonished. His breathtaking performance was a perfect highlight to Jews for Judaism's very successful "Stand Up for Judaism" Chanukah Benefit to support its intervention counseling and education programs.

More than 120 people attended the Benefit at "A Cow Jumped Over the Moon" in Beverly Hills on December 16th. It was a diverse crowd of Adults, young professionals from Jews for Judaism's new Young Professional Division, and representatives of Jews for Judaism's Be-True Student Leadership Fellowship program.

The night also featured a Chinese Auction with a large selection of prizes including jewelry, resort packages, theater tickets, restaurants and much more, giving people the opportunity to win valuable prizes and support Jews for Judaism's counseling and educational services that are essential to the Jewish community at the same time. The auction will continue online through midnight on December 31st, 2009 at www.JewsforJudaism.org/auction.
